Primary Responsibilities:

The maintenance staff is responsible for maintaining the GENEVA facilities in good condition so that the program can function as well as possible without distraction. Specific tasks include the following:

  1. Clean the bathhouse at GENEVA Shores twice each day—a thorough cleaning in the morning, and a second cleaning of floors and counters following the afternoon pool closing—and regularly check paper supply throughout
  2. Sweep and spot-mop dining hall following each meal, giving a thorough mopping once a day
  3. Empty all trash containers at least twice per week
  4. Sweep the floor of the Activity and Recreation Center daily, and scrub with the cleaning machine weekly, removing any marks on the flooring
  5. Set up and take down the chairs for the program closing activities in the ARC and Pines dining hall
  6. Sweep walks, entry hill, entrance to bike path, and other public entry areas at least three times per week, and more frequently as needed
  7. Assist in mowing and trimming grass as needed throughout camp
  8. Maintain all camp vehicles in clean condition and washing exteriors and cleaning windows as needed.

Job Description

The welder fabricates custom industrial HVAC equipment. Using drawings, the welder manually MIG welds structural components (tube and angle) to form a frame of each custom unit and 10-18 gauge sheet steel to complete the skin.  Fabrication is the key element of this position, as the Welder builds a unit from the ground up using subcomponents from the previous step in the process given only the final drawing design from Engineering. There are no step-by-step instructions.  The welder figures out the order of fabrication for the pieces presented to him or her.  A typical unit can be 5-10 feet tall and the same wide and long.  It takes anywhere from 1 to 3 days to fabricate a unit. The detail steps of fabrication for our units will be taught to a new welder, however, MIG welding experience is required.

Requirements High school diploma and any combination equivalent to high school.
MIG welding experience is required.
A weld proficiency test will be given.
Read mechanical engineering prints.
MIG weld steel components and caulk completed units.
Using a variety of hand tools.
Operate overhead cranes and Hi-Lo equipment.
Interface and communicate with other departments to accomplish tasks.
Maintain a clean work area.
Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements.
Must be available for overtime.
